Freshfield Microwave Systems Limited was incorporated
in 1999. Since then the company has concentrated on providing a range
of bespoke microwave products to customers operating in the telecommunications
and defence sectors of the economy.
Freshfield operates from a modern 2,700ft2 facility located
20 miles north of London and is within easy reach of three international
airports. The building incorporates separate enclosed areas for both
small volume printed circuit board manufacture and metalwork processing.
The remainder of the building is set aside for design, development
and manufacture.
Significant investment has been made in the
latest versions of microwave test equipment and computer aided electrical
and mechanical design tools. The capital expenditure has been focussed
toward providing fast and accurate prototyping, which can then be
released for higher volume production.
The company operates a Quality system which ensures all design, manufacturing
and internal procedures comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:
2000
The core products of the company are low noise and high-power microwave
amplifiers operating at frequencies up to 18 GHz. These products are
regularly integrated with other components such as filters, oscillators,
switches and mixers to provide complex high performance sub-systems
that are particularly desirable for applications where size and weight
are critical design factors.
